Available Scholarship for Chrisman Students

John Hixon Memorial Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded in memory of John Hixon to a graduating senior from Chrisman High School attending any recognized college or 4-year university.  This is a general scholarship, however, students planning to study in any area of avionics will be given top priority.

Available Scholarship for Chrisman or Shiloh Students

Betty Johnson Women in Agricultural Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior female from either Chrisman or Shiloh High Schools planning to further their education in agricultural education. This scholarship is non-renewable.

CVJ Englum Vocational Scholarship

Five $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors from any Edgar County high school planning to further their education in a tech/vocational degree ranging anywhere from agriculture to Veterinary assistant/technician. Past recipients may reapply.

The Indiana State University Social Work Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from any Edgar County high school planning to further his/her education by majoring in social work at Indiana State University.


John Crook Family and Consumer Science Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded in memory of John Crook to two graduating high school seniors from any Edgar County high school planning to further their education at any recognized 4-year college or university. This scholarship is a field of interest scholarship in the food education industry, such as culinary arts, dietary training, family and consumer science etc… This scholarship is non-renewable.

Kiwanis Early Riser Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior from any Edgar County high school planning to further his/her education in any recognized 2 or 4-year college or university in Illinois or Indiana.

Morrisey Family Scientific Careers Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior from any Edgar County high school planning to further his/her education in the field of science. This scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years, provided the student remains in the field of science.

Paris Police Association Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from any Edgar County high school planning to further their education in criminal justice or law enforcement, with the hopes that the winner will return to the East Central Illinois area once their studies have been completed.

VFW Post 3601 Veterans Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior or postgraduate from any Edgar County high school who is furthering their education in an accredited tech school, trade school, junior college, or 4-year university. The amount of this scholarship varies, with $1,250 being the maximum amount awarded to a recipient. Applicants MUST have a relative who is or was a member of the VFW Post 3601/Auxiliary in Paris, IL. Past winners may reapply.

1544th Memorial Scholarship (Shawna Morrison) Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior from Paris High School, in memory of Shawna Morrison, planning to further his/her education in any recognized college or university.

Aaron Peel Memorial Fine Arts Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded in memory of Aaron J. Peel to a high school senior of Paris High School planning to further his/her education at any accredited junior college or 4-year university. The student is expected to pursue courses in the fine arts. The scholarship is nonrenewable.

Allen Hornbrook Memorial FFA Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior from Paris High School who was an active member of the Paris, Illinois FFA Chapter. This student plans to further his/her education in an accredited tech school, trade school, junior college, or 4-year university.

Brian Evans Cooper and Family Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in memory of Brian Evans Cooper and the Cooper Family to a high school senior or a recent high school graduate of Paris High School who seeks to further their education at any recognized 4-year college or university. The successful applicant will have an educational focus in the areas of the sciences or engineering, history, or nutrition. Special consideration will be given to students with interests related to climate change or social justice. This scholarship is renewable for up to five years of continued higher education, including post-graduate work. Successful completion of each year of study and maintaining a major (or postgraduate focus) in a qualifying discipline is required for all payments to be distributed to the awardee.

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior of Paris High School planning to further his/her education in the area of: education, agriculture, natural resources, or conservation.

Elizabeth Akerman Memorial Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior from Paris High School who ranked in the top 25% of their class, who plans to study at a 4-year university. Preference will be given to students interested in history, English, French, art, or biology. This scholarship is non-renewable.

Heather Rigdon Memorial Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded in memory of Heather Rigdon to a high school senior or a postgraduate of Paris High School planning to further his/her education in any recognized college or university.

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Paris High School or a postgraduate of Paris High School already in college planning to further his/her education in a nursing program. This scholarship is non-renewable.

Joseph & Dorothy Archer Educational Scholarship

This $4,800 scholarship will be awarded each year to a qualifying student who is a graduating senior of Paris High School and meets the established criteria. The $4,800 will be awarded in increments of $1,200 per year for four years provided the student remains in good standing at the selected institution of higher learning.

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in memory of Josh D. Andrews to a high school senior or a postgraduate of Paris High School planning to further his/her education in any recognized 4-year college or university.

Kale Brinkley Athletic Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior Paris High School male athlete in football and/or basketball who best exemplifies the personal character, good sportsmanship, and athleticism that Kale Brinkley demonstrated. Must have played team football and/or basketball the full season during his senior year at Paris High School.

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in memory of Kevin Allen Craig to a high school senior of Paris High School planning to further his/her education in the area of mental health services.

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Paris High School graduating senior planning to further his/her education in the area of nursing at any Illinois or Indiana institution of higher learning. This scholarship is non-renewable.

This $500 scholarship will be awarded in memory of Pam Cockcroft to a high school or a postgraduate of Paris High School planning to further his/her education in any recognized 4-year college or university.

This $500 scholarship will be awarded in memory of Ron Doris to a high school senior or a postgraduate of Paris High School planning to further his/her education in Teacher Education at any recognized 4-year college or university. This scholarship is non-renewable.

Tom Hebermehl Vocational Scholarship (3 recipients)

Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors or postgraduates of Paris High School planning to further their education at a vocational school, junior college, or business college, each seeking a 2-year associate degree. The scholarship is renewable for a second year of study.

William and Martha Wilkins Fancher Nursing Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Paris High School graduating senior planning to further his/her education in the area of nursing at any recognized Illinois or Indiana institution of higher learning. This scholarship is non-renewable.

Two $500 scholarships will be awarded in memory of William D. Ingrum to two high school students or post-graduates of Paris High School planning to further their education by seeking an associate degree at any recognized junior college.
